Our bathroom tub had begun draining increasingly slower, until eventually we were standing in inch or two of water by the end of our showers. The bathroom sink was also draining slowly, and a bottle of Drano didn’t help, so we finally called Bob and Marc Plumbing. We had used them several times before, most recently to install the tankless hot water system when our water heater went out.
The plumber arrived shortly after we called, and after snaking deep into the drain pipe, pulled out a big, dense, hairy plug that looked like a small rat.
We got a new cooktop from Sears. Our old one looked like it originally came with the house, and, ever since we moved in, only two burners have worked. Sears was having a sale, so we ordered a black Whirlpool cooktop with a ceramic glass top. We thought it would fit into the space occupied by the existing stove. It was close, but we ended up having a carpenter enlarge the opening in the counter. The cooktop is awesome from what we had gotten used to since moving in. Now we can cook more than two things at a time.

We had a big nest of European Paper Wasps under the eaves of our front porch.
